OCEAN, the native token of blockchain based Ocean Protocol is now trading on the leading digital exchange, Bittrex International. With an estimated 1.7 MB of data produced by a single person in 2020 per second, the data of today contains information that has the capability to be processed for untold benefit. Unfortunately, the data is kept isolated, wasting its potential as the owner does not have the knowledge, skills or means to create value addition through facilitation of sale. The isolation means that firms and people who can use the data for meaningful purposes are deprived of the digital gold, buried away in proverbial mines.
OCEAN Token Trading
After a successful listing on the Bittrex International trading exchange, the OCEAN token monetizes data economy services on the Ocean Protocol. It allows for all parties – those who possess valuable data, and those who have need of it, to connect in a secure and private manner to trade.
The OCEAN token was successfully distributed through an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) on the global digital asset exchange, Bittrex International. The IEO began on 30th April and allowed traders of the platform an early access to the tokens. With the IEO having concluded at a figure of over $6,000,000 , the exchange has distributed the tokens to backers and now allows for live trading of the data economy changer. Bruce Pon, founder of Ocean Protocol said:
“It is rewarding to see the community get behind our vision for a new Data Economy and believing in Ocean Protocol. We are grateful to the 8,000 supporters from all our fundraising rounds who backed the project”
Peering in the Depths: The Ocean Vision
Ocean Protocol understands the need to make today’s data economy borderless, with no walls or isolations to help drive the global economy. For far too long, valuable data has been kept secret and private, the fear of it revealing personal and corporate information pushing for ever more isolation. Ocean Protocol helps to unlock that data by offering a platform where owners and seekers can exchange it, collaborate on analysis with advanced algorithms and AI, and even create a whole new marketplace.
Ocean Protocol already has well established and startups on board the platform. These include blood thinning therapy Roche Diagnostics, who searching for improved methods to achieve healthcare, a partnership with Next Billion, who are seeking rural store merchants looking to be rewarded for sharing their sales data, and insurance companies like Aviva and ConnectedLife who are working towards better habilitation of the elderly through understanding data from smart home appliances.
Ocean Protocol is even collaborating with AI Singapore to allow AIs and machine learning softwares to gain access to data which has never been seen before, enabling advances through research into practical applications derived from the raw data. According to Bruce, the platform will continue to offer more services:
“The Ocean Protocol team will continue to deliver software and network updates over the next two years, with five phases planned, each providing more sophisticated features, incentives and enhanced performance.”
OCEAN tokens are being traded on one of the most advanced and secure digital asset trading platforms, Bittrex International. Bittrex International has been designed to comply with EU and Maltese regulatory works, especially in line with the Malta Virtual Financial Act. Bittrex International also intends to become a regulated Virtual Financial Asset exchange with a formal application to Malta Financial Services Authority in plans.
